This larger wireform also enables easy crimping onto the blade without scarring your head. Using a simple pair of needle nose pliers that we all keep in our boat. Notable features of the Grass Cricket;
The uniquely designed angled slot will not allow your knot to touch the base of the head, protecting your line. Using your favorite weight stop, we recommend the Mustad weight stops in 6mm, put line through the jig and tie it to the Owner Hyper Wire #4 split ring that is included in the packet. Pull the weight stop down to the nose of the jig tightly and you’re ready to go.
- Reasoning behind the line thru design is to protect your knot in your line and there is no exposed knot to catch on grass and slow down the fall rate.
- Titanium Weed guard. (2) #100 lb. strands of titanium wire is steel epoxied in the head close to the point of the hook so grass wont go between the weed guard and hook. Also, featuring a 45-degree epoxied “balls” on the end of the wire, keeping your line from catching on weed guard.
- These #100 strands have zero drag falling through the grass, unlike the traditional thick fiber weed guards have. (the #100 lb. strands also press against the roof of the fish mouth and keeps them pegged)
- “Reneau” designed and approved grommeted skirts added to compliment the hand painted jig heads

Traditional Line Tie Jig Heads
- The knot is in front of the bait, totally exposed to abrasion from rocks, brush, fish teeth marks, etc.
- Improper cleaning of the Paint and clear coating, prior to tying can damage your knot, without you being able to detect it.
- Traditional line ties stick up and it can cause it to “catch” on lip of fish, possibly causing the jig to roll side to side and possibly compromising the hook up.
- Movement to your knot, on the lie tie during normal fishing and catching situations, causes your knot to slide back and forth, causing friction, damaging your knot.
- Perfectly designed line thru angle, which allows your swimbait to swim flat and horizontal, even with multiple baits
